Concerning the things (ones) that I love...
Have I mentioned liking kpop the past year? No? Ah.
Well, I have. Not that you'd care because clearly you (the author) are the only one reading this shitty excuse for a blog.
Anyway that wasn't the point.
Concerning the ones that I love... in this case a 22 year old guy named Huang ZiTao. He's a member of my favorite Kpop group, Exo, and there is a big possibility that he will leave said group. HZT is Chinese, and from what I know of Chinese people (and idk I guess I know some since I studied at a Chinese school from kindergarten to elementary), children are expected to be filial. HZT's dad posted a letter online stating that he wished for HZT's contract with the devil-ehem, SM Entertainment to be terminated. He reasoned that as a parent, it hurts him to see his child injured all the time. He also apologized to the fans and the members, and hoped that the fans could understand his decision, even though HZT could not.
Now, as you know very well, I am not a parent. I have no idea how a parent feels towards their child, although I may know a little from my parents, so I can't say that anything he says is fake or something like that.
To be completely honest, I am torn up between supporting his dad and crying over hisimpending exit from Exo. I hate SM. Seriously, who likes SM? Their talented artists are chained to them with slave contracts. They force their artists to perform despite injuries and fatigue. HZT has had so many injuries in the past yet he still continued to perform. Heck, he's injured right now! SM excuses themselves by saying that the artists wanted to continue performing, but as the company responsible for the health and well-being of their artists (who brings in the money they so love), don't they have the power to prohibit injured artists from performing? Look at Tao. My precious baby is suffering physical and mental pain right now because they decided not to be assholish for a while to Tao by prohibiting him from participating in the comeback stage. HZT's dad even mentioned that his condition has reached past the best treatable stage. WTF SM? Had they prohibited him from performing, his injury would have been close to healing now! FFS SM.
Honestly, I got into Exo, and by extension Kpop, because of Tao. I saw him on my dashboard a lot, and so I decided to listen to his group's stuff. If Tao leaves Exo, would I still stan them? Would I still like Exo? Sure, the rest of the members are dear to me now, Yixing especially, but is he enough to anchor me to this group? I don't know.
Whatever happens, I support whatever Huang ZiTao decides. Unless he posts an official statement, I won't believe and decide anything.
